What are the LADAs?
The LADAs celebrate all that is excellent in the laundry and drycleaning industry.
2024 will be the 10 year anniversary!
The LADAs have become the pinnacle of celebration for the laundry and drycleaning industry. The Laundry and Drycleaning Awards is the original industry award event that aims to recognise companies, individuals, services and products which stand out from the crowd, those bringing a new level of customer service and professionalism to the industry and helping it face the challenges of changing society and technology head-on. These awards, open to all sectors within the textile care industry; individuals and companies alike.
The awards first launched in 2015 after establishing a gap in the market to identify and celebrate the best in the industry, hosted by MEG Events and took place at The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, by 2016, the LADAs moved to Mercedes-Benz World and became a glittering gala dinner and black-tie event attended by 245 people. The 2023 event our best ever with 350 attendees was held at the prestigious venue: The Grand, Brighton.
“With our involvement in the industry, of over 23 years, there wasn’t any recognised system in place to reward the good work of our industry professionals. So, in 2014, the decision was made to introduce a series of awards that acknowledged the work and efforts of those within our industry. We, along with the sponsors of each awards ceremony, are demonstrating our commitment by acknowledging those most proactive members of our industry.”

The word is filtering out on what a great occasion and venue the gala awards ceremony is. This truly is becoming the must attend event on the industry calendar. Entries were made by individuals or nominated colleagues, so we anticipated the highest calibre of candidates being put forward. And, we weren’t wrong the event has grown year on year. Having a judging panel of respected industry professionals who cast a very careful eye over the initial entries, they then have the challenging task to identify the top three entries for each category. The final selection takes place prior to the presentation ceremony. All finalists were invited to the awards luncheon where the winners were announced and presented with their accolade

The LADAs support the Pancreatic Cancer Charity
Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the national charity dedicated exclusively to supporting research to improve diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund was founded in April 2004 by Maggie Blanks, following the death of her husband Alan from the disease in May 2003. Having discovered that survival rates for pancreatic cancer had barely improved in forty years and that little research was being undertaken, she was determined to encourage more research that was targeted specifically at the disease. She felt the best way to do this was through a charity which would not only raise new funds for research but also be a voice for pancreatic cancer sufferers and argue for a fair allocation of research funding and attention.
