J & M Sherry Textiles was founded in 1974 by brothers John and Michael Sherry and their wives Mary and Iris. The organisation was originally set up as a weaving manufacturer of towels.
The company was bought by David Hawthorne and Geoffrey Hall on 16th June 2008.
Over the years, due to ever-changing market trends, the company has had to change its strategy and develop new markets. UK Manufacturing of towels ceased in 2001 and now imports and supplies textiles to laundries, hotels, healthcare, prisons and more recently to the retail sector.
Following various approaches to buy the business, J & M Sherry Textiles was bought by Ashraf Said Ahmed on 15th December 2015. Ashraf is well known in the textile industry and he is now looking to invest and grow this business in the UK.
